- Roster news – Brendan Gallagher was injured against Dallas. He will be out one more week. Ryan Poehling has been skating on his own. He will likely be out another week. Gallagher and Poehling will not travel for the four-game road trip. Carey Price remains at home with an illness. Jeff Petry is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. Jonathan Drouin has been placed on IR. Nate Schnarr, William Lagesson and Justin Barron were acquired on the NHL’s Trade Deadline Day.
- Habs prospect report – Canadiens prospect Logan Mailloux may be done for the season as he considers shoulder surgery. Seven Canadiens prospects began the 16-team NCAA regional tournament; four prospects remain in pursuit of a Frozen Four berth: Blake Biondi (UMD), Brett Stapley (Denver), Ty Smilanic (Quinnipiac), Rhett Pitlick (Minnesota). Elliotte Friedman reported that Jordan Harris will sign a two-year ELC with the Montreal Canadiens in the coming days. - Habs news and notes: Jesperi Kotkaniemi signed an eight-year contract. The NHL General Managers meet in Florida on Monday and Tuesday.
