MONTREAL –The Montreal Canadiens announced Friday that defenseman Frédéric St-Denis has been assigned to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.

Recalled from the Bulldogs on November 15, the 5’11’’ and 182 lbs defenseman played eight games with the Canadiens since being called up, including his first NHL game on November 16 against the Carolina Hurricanes. St-Denis scored his first career NHL goal on December 8 against the Vancouver Canucks. He recorded four shots on goal, three blocked shots and displayed a +1 plus/minus differential, while playing an average of 11 minutes and 48 seconds per game.

The 25-year old defenseman totals eight points (3 goals and 5 assists) in 14 games with Hamilton this season. Two of his goals were scored on the powerplay. St-Denis added 19 shots on goal.

A native of Greenfield Park, Quebec, St-Denis signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on July 1, 2010.
