Canadiens Update
Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff April 15, 2008 12:23 PM
Guy Carbonneau, when asked whether tonight was a must-win for his club, had this to say:
“Is it a must-win? Every game is a must-win. They won the last game. They feel they have the momentum. I’m happy for them. They’ve won one game out of the last 14 games. So I think we feel pretty confident also. We know we haven’t played our best game. If we raise our level, then I think we’ll be OK.”
* Carbonneau is expecting more from his top line of Andrei Kostitsyn, Tomas Plekanec, and Alex Kovalev, which was blanked in Game 3. “They’ve always played well against the Bruins,” Carbonneau said. “That’s why [the Bruins] have to play that way against them, because they know they can burn them. They just have to raise their level — a little bit more grit, be stronger with the puck. I think we’ve been soft at the net area. I think we can get better at it. I think if we spend more time with the puck in their zone, that will create scoring chances.”
* Carbonneau didn’t disclose any possible lineup changes.
