Game Preview by Sam Gerber
Last game: MTL 6  NYI 3

The Canadiens gave the Islanders more than they could handle and finished strong. Taking advantage of poor defense and a big night by Alex Galchenyuk led to the Habs win.

Players to watch

  • Jacob De La Rose
Da La Rose has taken his game to a new level after getting more minutes. He has brought speed, size and physicality that will be tested against the Bruins.
  • Rick Nash
Nash has fit in very well with his new club and gives the Bruins even more net presence and offence in their battle for the division title.
  • Brad Marchand
Marchand has become the biggest offensive threat for the Bruins and continues to torment and aggravate teams with his play.

Keys to Victory

  • Raise your effort
Taking advantage of the Islanders weak goaltending and defence was one thing but the Canadiens will have to bring a new level to their game against the Bruins.
  • Play to the buzzer
The Canadiens gave up goals with less than six seconds left in each of the first and second periods on Friday night. Closing out periods strong will be important against the much stronger Bruins.
  • Defend your ice
The Bruins will be looking to draw the Canadiens out of position to exploit their defensive zone.

What to Expect by Sam Gerber
Prediction: Canadiens 2  Bruins 4

The Canadiens will have a much stronger opponent on their second game of back-to-back games. The Bruins are more talented and are playing at home. Due to injuries, the Habs will be forced to lean on their youth even more, which will be a great test for them.
