GAME DAY | Canadiens – Coyotes: Preview, Lines, Goalies, TV, Fantasy

Pre-game Notes and Quotes
  • Mike Condon on his first chance to re-enter the lineup after sitting 3 games: “You’re not going to keep a losing goalie in the net over and over, you have to win games if you want to stay in this league. I just have to get the job done.”
  • Michel Terrien on the recent play of Sven Andrighetto: “We want to put him in a position where he can show what he can do offensively. We put him with two good offensive guys and it went well, but he’s a guy who needs to produce, he’s done that at every level he’s played, be it Junior or in the American League. I sat with him and explained that. If he wants to have a career in the National Hockey League, he has to produce in the National Hockey League. He responded well last game and we hope that continues.”
  • Max Pacioretty: “We scored four goals. When we talk about our game plan, that’s exactly how we want to play, that team played last night so we want to wear them down in the first two periods by making them skate and then try to take over in the third. Other than some mental lapses on their goals, I really thought we played a strong game and executed our system very well.”
  • While the Canadiens have a 5-11-1 record versus teams in the Western Conference this season, the Coyotes have a 7-12-3 record against teams from the East.
  • So far this season, the Canadiens have a 3-5-0 record versus teams in the Pacific division, while the Coyotes have a 5-5-1 record versus teams coming from the Atlantic.
  • The Canadiens have risen in their placing for the goals against category, they are currently in 19th in the league in goals against, with 152 in 56 games. The Coyotes have allowed 169 goals in 55 games and find themselves in 27th in the league.
  • The Canadiens have dropped in the standings in the goals for category as they are currently in 11th place in the NHL, with 155 over their first 56 games. The Coyotes are 17th in this category with 145 goals scored in 55 games.
