Pre-game Notes and Quotes
“We played a pretty great team [on Thursday] and we showed up and competed and made play,” said Alex Galchenyuk. “I think the penalties killed the momentum a little bit. … We have a game [on Saturday] and we have to bounce back.”
“We have a great group here in this room and we’re working for it,” said Jets forward Drew Stafford. “It just hasn’t gone our way.”
Alex Galchenyuk will centre Max Pacioretty and Brendan Gallagher.
“One thing with Alex is that he is progressing really well,” said coach Michel Therrien. “He is playing with confidence. As a winger, he has been productive. We want to make sure that … he is capable of maintaining that. If he is capable of maintaining the quality of play that he has given us lately, that’s great news.”
Galchenyuk put it quite simply, “I’ve played wing. I’ve played center. I’ve just got to go out there and do my job.”
