Last game : MTL 5 VGK 4
Antti Niemi and the Habs had a terrible to start to this one and found themselves down two goals early. The Canadiens took advantage of a turnover to start their comeback, scoring three quick goals in the second. Montreal had the momentum gave up a late one to go into the third tied. An early power-play goal had the Golden Knights up again but the Habs found a way to come back once again bailing out their goaltender. Andrew Shaw got his second goal of the game and, shortly after, Tomas Tatar scored the game winner against his former team. For a complete game recap: Habs Overcome Early Hole for Win
Keys to Victory

What to Expect by Sam Gerber |
The first game on a Western road trip can always be a little rough but the Habs can’t be caught sleeping. The Habs have to come out strong. In my opinion, the Oilers are a one trick pony, and that would be Connor McDavid. Keep in mind, the Oilers are still a Western team and they will bring the physicality, the Habs have to be ready. The Canadiens may not punish teams but if they are consistent they could prevail in the late stages of the game. If the Habs were to pick a game to work on the power-play this would be the one as the Oilers penalty-kill is bottom five in the league. |
