Pre-game Notes and Quotes
P. K. Subban on his recent neck injury, in which he is slated to soon return from: “I’m excited to get back into the lineup and help my teammates. There are still eight games left to play, that’s what I’m focused on right now. It definitely felt great to be back out with the guys for practice today. It hasn’t been an easy year for anyone, but it is encouraging to see the young guys stepping up. That’s just how hockey works. When I first arrived I needed to compete against the veterans to earn a spot. I’ve been in their shoes before.”
Mike Brown, who was a huge reason the Canadiens won against the surging Ducks, had this to say about their most recent win: “This was a character game. We showed up to play and we got the two points, we’ve had our fair amount of chances, but we know we have to contribute. We can’t spend too much time in our D zone, and at the other end we have to pop some pucks in. We’ve been waiting a little bit of time, but we finally got a couple tonight and helped the boys win, so it was huge for us.”
