Last game: MTL 2 OTT 1
Carey Price is back and proved it once again. Even after giving up the first goal, Price’s presence around the team allowed them to relax. Jonathan Drouin connected on a penalty shot while Phillip Danault scored the game winner.
David Schlemko
In his first game this season for the Canadiens, Schlemko proved why Marc Bergevin signed him. He is a true puck-moving, mobile defenseman.
Daniel Carr
Carr was called up after the Rocket game on Wednesday night. He is expected to play his first game this season.
Dylan Larkin
Larkin leads his team in points, using his speed to burn defenders. Montreal will need to close the gap on Larkin quickly.
Keys to Victory
Break out the puck quickly
The Wings have some of the fasted forwards in the league which can cause mayhem for opponents’ breakouts. Getting the puck out quick can be a big counter attack for the Habs.
Attack the defense
Detroit’s defense are not very fleet of foot. If the Canadiens use their speed, they can cause issues in the Wings zone.
Clear the crease
The Wings have a number of vets on the team who love to crash the net. Habs must protect Carey Price and keep them to the outside.
