The Kings’ offense on the other hand hasn’t been as good (they are known more for their defensive game), but they remain in a tie for 20th in the NHL with a total of 78 goals over their first 30 games this season.

2015-16 statistics

• Alec Martinez is one of those players who tend to go unnoticed throughout the season. While the Kings have huge offensive threats on the back end with Muzzin and Doughty, Martinez’s play usually gets overshadowed. Martinez has never been a huge point producer, or even a 0.5 Point per game player (he is averaging 0.3 PPG over his career), but his peripheral stats definitely make him worthy of a roster spot. Martinez has been averaging 2.03 hits, 2.23 blocked shots, 1.77 shots on goal and 21:15 TOI per game this season. Not to mention he also sports a very respectable +6 in the +/- category and has 4 power play points. If your league uses these extended statistics, than your roster could definitely use the services of the 28 year old. He could also be a sneaky option in daily leagues as he has produced all but 2 of his 11 points on the road this season and should come at cheap salary.
