GAME DAY | Lightning – Canadiens: Preview, Prediction, Lines, Goalies, TV

Game Preview by Sam Gerber
Last game: MTL 3  NYR 1

The Habs took advantage of a make-shift Rangers team that had many of their best players injured or held out of the lineup in expectation of a trade. The Canadiens  controlled good portions of the game. Noah Juulsen was a stand out in his first NHL game.

For a complete recap: Let Them Play

Players to watch

  • Noah Juulsen
Juulsen will have a much bigger test tonight against one of the best teams in the NHL and one of the most explosive offenses.
  • Steven Stamkos
Stamkos and the Lightning have their eyes set on winning the President’s Trophy and beyond.
  • Yanni Gourde
Gourde has been one of the Lightning’s best players of late. With 47 points already this season, Gourde will be a player to watch.

Keys to Victory

  • Set the pace
The Canadiens must use their speed to set the tone and engage the Bell Centre if they are to have a chance of defeating one of the league’s best teams.
  • Execute zone entries
The Canadiens may have difficulty retrieving the puck on the forecheck so must make use of effective entries.
  • Take no penalties
Take a penalty against the Lightning and the Canadiens will give up a goal. It is as simple as that.
