Game Preview by Sam Gerber | |
Last game : MTL 1 CAR 2
The Habs played a great game and had over 90 shot attempts, 49 reached the net. They only scored one goal which was the difference maker. Curtis McElhinney was solid and had puck luck on his side. The game was highlighted by Shea Weber’s return after an almost year long absence. Weber had the most ice time and was involved physically, not exactly easing himself back into it. The Canes took advantages of the few chances they had which was enough for them to get the win. Montreal have now lost five games in a row. For a complete game recap: Habs Fans Welcome Captain Weber

What to Expect by Sam Gerber |
The Habs need to turn it around. With five losses in a row enough is enough. Montreal desperately needs points in this back-to-back weekend. The Rangers are a rebuilding team that have a combination of skilled veterans and young speedsters. The Habs roster has quite a bit more depth and should have an advantage on the top lines. Carey Price will start in goal against the Rangers. Claude Julien has not yet announced his starter for Sunday’s game. Montreal needs to play the same style no matter who is in net. |
