Game Preview by Sam Gerber, Staff Writer
Last game: MTL 6 DET 3
Thursday night’s win was all about character. After a horrible first period, the Habs came out hard in the second. The game was highlighted by two quick goals and Price’s timely saves once again.
Brendan Gallagher
Gallagher has been the offensive leader all season. With two goals last game, it brings his total to 12.
Anthony Mantha
Mantha was one of the Wings best players on Thursday. Montreal can’t give him as much space this game.
Andrew Shaw
Shaw played great last game, and will be a key player tonight playing at home with intensity.
Keys to Victory
Be disciplined
The Wings had their way with the Habs on the power-play and the penalty kill. The Habs need to stay out of the box and keep possession on the power-play.
Start with energy
The Habs came out flat in the first period on Thursday and were lucky it was only 2-1. The Canadiens need to bring the energy right from the starting face-off.
Play smart
There is bound to be some carry-over from Thursday night. Stay out of the after the whistle scrums.
