GAME DAY | Sabres – Canadiens: Preview, Lines, Goalies, TV, Fantasy

Pre-game Notes and Quotes
  • Rookie Jack Eichel had this to say about his new teams past performance this season and what they plan to do going forward: “Win one game at a time, that’s all you can do,  you can only focus on your next game and your next opponent. I think that’s what we want to do and win as many of these games as we can and see where that puts us. I think we got behind the eight ball a little bit and we’ve been a little inconsistent. I think we can work at that consistency here and see how we are at the end of the year.”
  • In an attempt to fix their scoring woes, Lucas Lessio debuted for the Canadiens last night versus the Flyers. Unfortunately he was forced to leave the game after a hit by Radko Gudas. Lessio became the 10th player to make their debut with the Canadiens this season, as both injuries and inconsistencies have been very apparent this season.
  • While the Canadiens have a 20-12-3 record versus teams in the Eastern Conference this season, the Sabres have a 12-17-1 record against teams from the East.
  • So far this season, the Canadiens have a 11-4-1 record versus teams in the Atlantic division, while the Sabres have a 6-10-1 record versus teams coming from the Atlantic.
  • The Canadiens have dropped in their placing for the goals against category, they are currently in 22nd in the league in goals against, with 138 in 51 games. The Sabres have allowed 136 goals in 50 games and find themselves in 19th in the league.
  • The Canadiens have maintained their place in the standings in the goals for category as they are currently in 10th place in the NHL, with 138 over their first 51 games. The Sabres are 28th in this category with 114 goals scored in 50 games.
