Players to watch

  • Paul Byron
Since signing a new contract, Byron hasn’t lived up to it. Now, finally healthy, he can finish the season strong that show please Habs management.
  • Tomas Tatar
Tatar wasn’t traded at the deadline as Bergevin knows his job depends on the team making the playoffs next season.
  • Jake Evans
Evans was recalled again after Bergevin moved a number of depth players.   a big opportunity to show he can compete at NHL level..

Keys to Victory

  • Outwork the opponent
The Canucks have alot of skilled guys but still are a hard working team. The Habs definitely have to work harder to secure two points.
  • Win on home ice
The Habs haven’t been dominant at the Bell Centre for awhile. It’s time the Habs become that team and use the best fans in hockey to knock their opponent off their game.
  • Win special teams
The Canucks have a great power-play and the Habs can’t afford to give them too many chances or it will be a long game.

  • “Nothing really changes for us. Some guys go out, others come in. It’s as if you lose guys to injuries, new guys have to step up and play an important role, and that’s the message going in right now.”

What to Expect by Sam Gerber
The Habs decided to be small sellers at the deadline keeping the majority of the team together. No one is quite sure where they’re headed but with 14 picks at the upcoming draft the Habs will definitely have a busy June. For now the Habs still have a minuscule chance to make playoffs but it will be interesting to see how a healthy forward group performs down the stretch. The Canucks won’t be an easy matchup as Quinn Hughes has been one of the best puck moving defenseman in the league. .
