Last game : MTL 2  TOR 1  F/OT   After two scoreless periods, each team posted a third period goal. In overtime, Carey Price stopped a shot punching the puck to spring  Nick Suzuki. He was poke-checked, but Ilya Kovalchuk potted the rebound. It was a fantastic end to a slow game which gave fans something to celebrate.

Players to watch

  • Brendan Gallagher
    Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet mentioned that they will have to box out players like  Gallagher who isn’t afraid to go to the front of the net.
  • Ben Chiarot
    Chariot has struggled at times defensively this season, particularly on the penalty-kill. But there is no denying signing that Chariot has been a workhorse for Claude Julien all season averaging 23:30 in icetime per game.
  • Jonathan Drouin
    Drouin had a rough night playing for the first time since recovering from wrist surgery. The injury has fully healed, with Drouin having been cleared to play by doctors almost two weeks ago, but he isn’t feeling 100 percent comfortable yet.

Keys to Victory

  • Get a quick start
    The Habs emotions are high after putting a couple wins together. Bell Centre fans were pretty quiet for almost three periods against Toronto. The team must use  emotion to get the crowd going early tonight.
  • Control the play
    The Habs did an excellent job in the third against the Leafs controlling the play and the puck, if they do that against the Coyotes they will have a good chance at two points. 
  • Be physical
    With Weber out the Habs can’t forget to be a physical team. The Coyotes are used to Western conference hockey and won’t be afraid to mix it up.

 What to Expect by Sam Gerber
Injuries to both Arizona goalies has pushed the Coyotes out of a playoff spot for the first time this season. Darcy Kuemper, who’s been having a great season, will not play. The Habs have to test Antti Raanta and make him uncomfortable. Carey Price has been looking like his normal self since the start of December.
