Game Preview by Sam Gerber
Last game : MTL 2 PHI 3 F/OT Carey Price stood tall and stole a point that the Habs did not deserve. A 40-save performance wasn’t enough for the Habs as they failed to generate much of an offense only putting up seven shots in the second and five in the third period. It wasn’t enough and a parade of penalties for the Habs didn’t help.
Nick Suzuki
Suzuki has only shown flashes of his junior hockey talent so far this season and will be given another shot at center with Kotkaniemi out.
Jonathan Drouin
After a good start to the season, Drouin has completely disappeared. As is his practice, Drouin usually picks up points against weaker teams and he will have a chance to do that tonight against the Kings.
Tomas Tatar
Tatar has taken 10 minor penalties this season with many being preventable. He simply has to play smarter to work his way out of the dog house.
Keys to Victory
Reduce giveaways
The Habs were turnover machines against the Flyers. It was a rough night and the Habs know they have to be a much better team if they want a chance to see the post season.
Be disciplined
The parade to the penalty box must stop. If the Habs keep moving their feet and up their physical play instead of reaching with their sticks they will be in a better spot to avoid infractions.
Make better shot choices The Habs lineup should average more than 30 plus shots every game and can’t afford to pass up any high danger chances.

Claude Julien
“The last three games I think we’ve been very ordinary so moving guys around and trying to get their attention and probably get some energy is why we’ve done it.”

What to Expect by Sam Gerber
It’s puzzling to see Drouin promoted to the top line after a dreadful week but he has been given a golden opportunity to feast on one of the league’s worst teams. Byron should get some extra ice time playing with Domi hopefully sparking some offense. Price has had a strong season but will need the Habs to limit the high danger opportunities.
