 Post-game Chatter

186237429_slideCoach Michel Therrien:

  • On inserting Ryan White in the lineup.. “We were home. We were going to wait what type of lineup they going to put us. We saw the lineup and we took the decision.”
  • “Whitey played probably his best game of the year. This is a kid that, at times he’s not dressed, it’s not because of his lack of effort and lack of intensity. He’s a heart and soul guy. Any time that we aren’t dressing him, we want to make sure we are talking to him and let him know the situation: we got a healthy lineup, it depends on who we’re going to play at times. He understands, he’s a good teammate. He’s got a good attitude, and he was ready to play tonight. “
  • “[The fourth] line were a big reason why we won the game.  They were intense. They created some scoring chances and with their intensity they spent a lot of time in the offensive zone. As far as I’m concerned, this is leadership for me.  Those three guys were true leaders tonight.”
  • “Early in the game, I liked the way [Alex Galchenyuk] was playing. Obviously it turned out good for us because he ended up scoring the winning goal. So we’re pleased.”
  • “Of course [starting the fourth line in the second period] was a message. I didn’t like [the team’s] intensity in the first period.  I don’t think we had the right attitude to start the game.  We discussed it after the first period.  [The fourth line] was intense. So we decided to start with those guys to the second period and they gave us a big goal.”
