Coach Michel Therrien:
- “Tomas [Plekanec] was very good tonight.”
- “[Plekanec] is a very smart player. He’s playing the right way. He’s always in good position on the ice. He’s doing a lot of good things. So that’s why coaches have confidence putting guys like that on the ice. I think in the hockey world they know the value of Tomas.”
- On whether Plekanec should receive Selke Trophy consideration: “Should be.”
- “We’re satisified because we got results. The purpose of making changes is because you want to see results and we got some results. We got three win wins this week playing against Minnesota, Washington, …[and Pittsburgh.]”
Penguins captain Sidney Crosby
- “[Carey Price] was solid. We started well and got some chances. [Price] weathered the storm early on and allowed them to stay in the game and get that important first goal in the second [period.] He was solid all the way through.”
