 Post-game Chatter

186237429_slideCoach Michel Therrien:

  • “I thought that we played really well in the second and third periods. [The Dallas Stars] are a good hockey team and they were playing really well lately so it was a good challenge for us. We had a chance to make it a good road trip and this is exactly what we did.”
  • “[P.K. Subban] was really good offensively, (he) took some right decisions. He took the ice that the other team gave to him.  He didn’t force any plays. He was solid defensively too. He played a great game.”
  • “We want to make sure that [P.K. Subban] is a solid defenseman in his own end. And we don’t want to take away his personality about being an offensive defenseman. I thought he took some right decisions tonight.”
  • “We fought back. I didn’t like the penalty we took in the third period after the whistle (by Brendan Gallagher.) This is something we addressed with the the team. We need more discipline and it was a bad penalty. Even when they tied up the game we didn’t panic.  I thought we played a game under control and we created some chances.”
  • “[Ryan White has] an upper body injury. We’ll find out more when we’re back in Montreal.”
  • “[Max Pacioretty] has been great. Lately Patch is playing solid, playing with a lot of confidence, skating really well so he’s a true leader for us right now, for sure.”

 Forward Max Pacioretty:

  • “[We’ve] been struggling scoring goals, been struggling to put 60 minutes together. We came out slow, found a way to bounce back after a bad start. Carey [Price] bailed us out early in the game and I think we took it from there.”

Stars forward Tyler Seguin:

  • “To be honest, I don’t think we deserved to win that game. I don’t think we earned it. I thought [the Canadiens] were faster than us tonight. They competed harder than us tonight. I think we got a little complacent after having a soft few games in a row.”
