Post-game Chatter |
Coach Michel Therrien:
- “We asked the young guys to cause surprise. Definitely [Bournival] caused surprise by the way he performed in games. First of all he reported in great shape. We put him in different roles lately. I know that he’s capable of playing wing. I wanted to see if he could play center in the NHL. He passed that test. I wanted to see if he was capable of killing penalties. He did a good job. So he’s got speed but his work ethic is the reason he deserved to be on the 23-man roster with our club.”
- “The more [Desharnais, Pacioretty and Briere] are together, the more I could feel the chemistry is there. That was a vision we had. I’m glad that it’s working. I hope that they will keep going in that direction.”
- “We got good news regarding George Parros. I think he’s going in the right direction. We hope that he will be ready to play the first game. He put a lot of effort to be ready. We’re crossing our fingers that he will be there.”
- “I can’t confirm that [Bournival and Tinordi] will be there for the first game but they will be on the 23-man roster.”
- “I believe that the line [of Eller, Galchenyuk and Gallagher played] their best game of the pre-season. I did have a meeting with them before the game and let them know what I feel about their performance so far and they responded well. I thought they played well. They played like they’re supposed to play tonight. It’s a step in the right direction.”
