Post-game Chatter |
- “I liked the changes that we made in the third period. It was our best period offensively. I liked Galchenyuk at centre. That’s something we’d been thinking about for a while. With Pacioretty and Gallagher, they generated good things together. It’s something that we’re going to try again for sure.”
- Therrien said that Desharnais has not been giving enough since the beginning of the season putting the management in a position where a decision must be made.
Goaltender Peter Budaj:
- “They’re relentless. They’re first on the puck. They work hard. They chip the puck and they go after it. They do everything with a purpose and they win the battle. They compete really hard. Jiggy [J.S. Giguere] played really well tonight. They’ve got good skill offensively and solid defense. They’re in first place and they’ve got good young players that win the one-on-one battles.”
Avalanche coach Patrick Roy
- “[The third-period effort] was pretty solid. When they made it 1-1, we just stepped our play up another notch. I thought that was great.”
Avalanche forward Ryan O’Reilly
- “I was in on the forecheck and think P.K. (Subban) kind of bobbled it behind the net, and it came right on my stick. I went in front and tried to get it over the pad, and luckily it went in.”
