Post-game Chatter |
- “We didn’t want to change our plan (in overtime.) We tried to manage the puck but they were doing a good job. We tried to generate offence but you have to give the other team some credit too. This is a good hockey team we faced tonight.”
- “(Deploying Galchenyuk at centre) is a process. We’ll evaluate everything again and we’ll go from there.”
- “If we go back from last year, Galchenyuk was really good (in the shootout) and Gallagher scored some big goals too and I got a feeling on Patch (Max Pacioretty); didn’t work.”
- “Price gave us a chance to win, he played a heck of a game. We didn’t get a third goal for him, but he should be proud of the way he played. I don’t see many athletes happy when we’re losing a game, and that’s the attitude we want.”
- “We played against a very good team. [The Blues] are quick and strong on the puck. We worked hard; I felt that our players give it their all tonight.”
Forward Michael Bournival:
- “Carey (Price) made some huge saves for us. This season, he’s been keeping us in the game every time out.”
Blues coach Ken Hitchcock
- “I know one thing: When you’re blocking a lot of shots, the puck’s in your end a lot. You don’t block shots in the offensive zone or the neutral zone. When you’re blocking that many shots it wears on you after a while. You end up hemmed in and stuff like that.”
- “I think we got frustrated. We couldn’t extend the lead, got frustrated and they built on that frustration. They started to come at us in the second period. They got great energy from the Plekanec line and that started to take the game away from us a little bit.”
