Why the Canadiens haven’t given Mark Streit a decent chance on defense up to this point is beyond me??!! I’m glad to see that he’s finally being given that opportunity and will provide Guy Carbonneau with a more all round game on the powerplay than Sheldon Souray. Souray certainly has a better point shot but isn’t as good a passer or skater as Streit is which will make PK units throughout the league be more hesitant to over play Streit to eliminate his shot.
Mark Streit versatility and patience’s last year have paid dividends for this season. I think we’re going to see his full potential this season with the added ice time on the PP and I wouldn’t be surprised if Streit gets between 40-50 points this year.
