Grabovski Gets 3 Game Suspension For Abuse Of Official

From TSN:

The Maple Leafs have confirmed that forward Mikhail Grabovski will be suspended 3 games for abuse of an official. The incident happened on Thursday night late in the third period of Toronto’s game in Montreal.

Late in game, there was shouting between the benches as Andre Deveaux and Lapierre were penalized. Then former Canadien Grabovski, who was booed each time he touched the puck, and Sergei Kostitsyn tried to get at each other but were restrained with great difficulty by the officials. Both players looked to push their luck in terms of drawing fines or suspensions for shoving linesmen.

The grudge runs deep between the former friends and fellow natives of Belarus. The two were also at each other the last time the teams met.

Asked if the feud will resume when the teams meet again on Feb. 7 in Montreal, Kostitsyn said “yes.”

Later in the TSN article:

Grabovski was not a favourite of Habs coach Guy Carbonneau while he played in Montreal and when asked about him, the coach shrugged and said, “I didn’t have much to say about him when he was here and I don’t have any more to say about him now.”
