OWEN SOUND, ON. — The Canadiens’ players are continuing to give back to their communities. Forward, Devante Smith-Pelly, will be joining Zac Rinaldo’s (Boston Bruins) charity ball hockey tournament in Hamilton July 18th. Yes, even rivals came come together to do good for the community. Proceeds from the three-on-three hockey tournament will go to local charities like McMaster Children’s Hospital and to local breast cancer research.
Rinaldo expects 25 teams, that’s over 300 children aged 6 to 14, to participate alongside the NHL’ers.
The tournament will be taking place at the Chedoke Twin Pad Arena in Hamilton. Although teams for the tournament for full, you can still buy your tickets to the 21+ patio event at any of these locations.
Zac Rinaldo enjoys giving back, “I like kids, I can relate to them very easily. Kids who are in need, I love giving back to them.”
Some of the other NHL players who will take part include Wayne Simmonds, Ryan Ellis and Darnell Nurse. This is a chance for children to have fun and meet their idols while hoping to surpass the $20, 000 raised last year. You can find out more here.
