    From The Fourth Period:

The Canadiens entered the season with a strong amount of depth, but some players are starting to question their role on the team, reports Montreal’s La Presse.

Veterans Mathieu Dandenault and Steve Begin haven’t seen the action they expected to see at this point in the season.

Dandenault, who has played on the team’s fourth line and as a defenseman, has played in eight games this year, while Begin has only competed in five.

“If the Canadiens don’t have a plan for me, I’d like to know,” Begin told La Presse. “I understand the situation, but at the same time it’s concerning because [head coach] Guy Carbonneau indicated that his roster over the last two games is his lineup.”

Dandenault and Begin combine for $3,050,000 in salaries, and the paper wonders if they’ll still be with the team by season’s end.

“I’m not different than anyone else,” Begin said. “I want to play.”
