Habs – Leafs Rivalry Montage with Luciano Pavarotti [VIDEO]

MONTREAL, QC. — The historic rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs is the oldest in the NHL. The two clubs first met on December 26, 1917 and have battled each other a total of 712 times in the regular season including Saturday’s game.

Hockey Night in Canada on CBC opened tonight’s game with a video montage capturing the emotion of the rivalry with the stirring soundtrack of Luciano Pavarotti’s rendition of “Nessum Dorma.”
