CANADIENS ASSIGN GREG PATERYN TO BULLDOGS

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned defenceman Greg Pateryn to the Bulldogs.

Pateryn was recalled by Montreal from Hamilton on Wednesday, October 23rd, but did not dress for Montreal. In five games with Hamilton this season, the 6’2”, 222-pound defenceman has recorded four points (two goals, two assists) and four penalty minutes. He is currently tied for fourth in Bulldogs scoring.

The 23-year-old split last season between Hamilton and Montreal. In 39 regular season games with Hamilton, the Sterling Heights, Michigan native recorded 12 points (seven goals, five assists) and 27 penalty minutes. In three regular season games with Montreal, he recorded no points and no penalty minutes.

Pateryn was originally selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round (128th overall) in the 2008 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Hamilton’s next game is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, October 27th, when they will host the Toronto Marlies (AHL Affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) at Copps Coliseum at 3:00 p.m.
