CANADIENS ASSIGN BEAULIEU, HOLLAND TO BULLDOGS

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned defenceman Nathan Beaulieu and forward Patrick Holland to the Bulldogs.

Beaulieu, 20, has appeared in one game with Hamilton this season, recording no points and two penalty minutes. He has also played five games with Montreal this season, recording one assist and no penalty minutes. He split last season between Hamilton and Montreal. Last season, the 6’2”, 194-pound defenceman was named the Bulldogs’ Most Valuable Player and Top Rookie and also shared top defenceman honours with Jarred Tinordi. In 67 regular season games with Hamilton, the Strathroy, Ontario native recorded 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists) and 63 penalty minutes. In six regular season games with Montreal, he recorded two assists and no penalty minutes. Beaulieu was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round (17th overall) in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Holland, 21, has appeared in four games with Hamilton this season, recording two points (one goal, one assist) and no penalty minutes. The Lethbridge, Alberta native has also played three games with Montreal this season, recording no points and no penalty minutes. Last season, in 69 regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 6’0”, 185-pound forward recorded 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) and eight penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round (193rd overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Hamilton’s next game is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, October 27th, when they will host the Toronto Marlies (AHL Affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) at Copps Coliseum at 3:00 p.m.
