MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled forward Mike Blunden from the Bulldogs.

In 66 games with Hamilton, the 6’4”, 214-pound defenceman has recorded 36 points (18 goals, 18 assists) and 79 penalty minutes. In six games with Montreal, the Toronto, Ontario native has recorded no points and five penalty minutes.

In 377 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Norfolk Admirals, Rockford IceHogs, Syracuse Crunch, Springfield Falcons and Bulldogs, the 27-year-old has recorded 186 points (83 goals, 103 assists) and 461 penalty minutes. In 101 career National Hockey League games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets and Canadiens, he has recorded eight points (four goals, four assists) and 105 penalty minutes.

Blunden was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the second round (43rd overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Hamilton’s next game is scheduled for Saturday, April 12th when the ‘Dogs will host the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres) at FirstOntario Centre at 7:00 p.m.
