From Canadiens.com:

Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Wednesday the signing of free agent right-winger Mike Glumac to a one-year, two-way contract (2008-09). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Glumac, 28, played with the AHL Peoria Rivermen in 2007-08, ranking sixth on the team in scoring with 49 points in 75 games (21 goals, 28 assists), along with 99 penalty minutes. He also played in four games with the St. Louis Blues.

Glumac (6-foot-2, 201 pounds), played in 40 career regular season games in the NHL, all with the Blues, including 33 games during the 2006-07 season. He collected 13 points (seven goals, six assists) and 38 penalty minutes. He has scored 244 points (113 goals, 131 assists) in 323 career games in the American Hockey League.

Habster:

Obviously, Glumac wasn’t signed to fill an NHL roster spot and will spend most of his year in Hamilton where his scoring ability and veteran leadership will be a welcome addition to a young Bulldogs team.

There isn’t a lot of scouting information about Mike Glumac which is kind of odd for a career AHL player but I was able to get some information from a friend of mine who is a St. Louis Blues fan.

He said that Glumac isn’t the greatest skater with only average speed which could explain why he hasn’t made it to the NHL. He also stated Glumac has very good hands and a nice touch around the net with a good shot (he like to drive hard to the net). Glumac also doesn’t mind getting his nose dirty in the corners and can play a physical game using his good size (6’2″ 205lbs) when needed. My friend also said that Glumac is a good 1st or 2nd line winger in the AHL. From what I’ve seen on Youtube and Hockeyfights.com, Glumac will drop the gloves which is admirable but he doesn’t win too many fights.
