MONTREAL (July 15, 2011) – Montreal Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier announced today the signing of defenseman Frédéric St-Denis to a one-year, two-way contract. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In 2010-11, St-Denis registered 23 points (5 goals, 18 assists) in 76 games with the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs. He displayed a +16 plus/minus differential and served 34 penalty minutes.

St-Denis, 25, played 142 regular season games with the Bulldogs from 2008 to 2011, recording 42 points (9 goals, 33 assists) in that span. The 5’11’’, 193 lbs Greenfield Park, QC native was signed to a one-year contract by the Canadiens as a free agent on July 1, 2010.
