MONTREAL — The Canadiens have traded forward Andrei Kostitsyn to the Nashville Predators, in return for a second-round Draft pick in 2013 and the cancellation of a conditional fifth-round draft pick in 2013 (as part of the Hal Gill trade – February 17, 2012).
The 27-year-old winger was the Canadiens’ first-round pick (10th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Over the course of 53 games as a member of the Canadiens in 2011-12, the Novopolotsk, Belarus native posted a total of 12 goals – three of them game winners – and 12 assists, in addition to accumulating 16 penalty minutes.
In seven NHL seasons, all with the Canadiens, Kostitsyn amassed 99 goals and 111 assists, while posting a plus-8 differential over 379 games.
