Habsworld: Interview with Habs prospect Ben Maxwell

Habster’s take:

Ben Maxwell had a very frustrating season last year with the Kootenay Ice of the WHL. Maxwell missed 33 games due to a badly injured elbow but still managed 53 points ( G-19 A-34) in the first 39 games of the season( he was leading the WHL in points until the injury). Pro-rate that point total over the entire season and Maxwell would have won the WHL scoring race with 98 points ( Zach Hamill won the scoring title with 93 points).
Maxwell has really developed his all-round game with the ability to score points as well. He is a excellent skater with very good vision who is a very cerebral type player. Trevor Timmins thinks that Ben Maxwell has the potential to be a future Habs’ first or second line center. Mr. Maxwell still has another year of junior eligibility with the Kootenay Ice so he will most likely be playing there this upcoming season.
