HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that goaltender Peter Delmas and defenceman David Urquhart have been recalled from the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL to the Bulldogs. Both players are scheduled to join the team in Houston for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday, May 13th.
Delmas, 21, played in two games with the Bulldogs this season earning a record of 1-0-1 with a 1.92 goals-against-average and a .933 save percentage. The 6-foot-3, 183-pound goaltender also played in 24 regular season games with Wheeling in 2010-2011, compiling a record of 15-6-2 along with a 2.03 goals-against-average and a 0.928 save percentage. Delmas also played 15 post-season games with the Nailers earning a record of 8-6 along with a 3.13 goals-against-average and a .903 save percentage. In five regular season games with Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League this year, Delmas has a 0-3-1 record along with a 4.85 goals-against-average and 0.836 save percentage. The native of Bedford, Nova Scotia was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2nd round, 61st overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and was signed as a free agent by Hamilton on October 14, 2010.
Urquhart, 26, played in 23 regular season games with the Bulldogs in 2010-2011 recording five assists and eight penalty minutes along with a +1 rating. The native of Thorold, Ontario also appeared in 24 regular season games with Wheeling this year registering nine points (one goal, eight assists) and 32 penalty minutes and eight post-season games with the Nailers posting four assists and 10 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 190-pound defenceman has played a total of 130 career AHL games amassing 23 points (six goals, 17 assists) and 78 penalty minutes.
The Bulldogs will begin their Western Conference Finals series against the Houston Aeros on Friday, May 13th at 8:35 p.m. EST at Toyota Center in Houston.
