From ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun:
Taking the train back from Montreal to Toronto tonight (you know, like the Rocket and the boys did in the 1950s, right?) as we wrapped up a two-day shoot on the Canadiens’ 100-year celebration plans.
We shot interviews with Jean Beliveau and Guy Carbonneau and Rejean Houle, as well as doing a segment at Montreal’s landmark deli Schwartz’s, where the world’s finest smoked meat sandwich is served. Beliveau, Carbonneau and dozens of former Habs greats have been regular customers over the years. Make sure you check it out for yourself if you’re ever in Montreal and tell Schwartz’s manager Frank Silva I sent you!
You’ll soon be able to check out the shoot, which will be part of our special Canadiens Centennial package on ESPN.com in the days leading up to Montreal’s Oct. 15 home opener.
