► Eller ready to go
- Lars Eller hit the tennis court in Montreal to play a little ball hockey with some other other players such as Marie-Phillip Poulin and Alexander Burrows and was asked a couple questions by the local media.
- On his summer so far: “Summers been good, I spend most of it here in Montreal, training’s been good I’ve been enjoying myself too, like I said playing some tennis, golf and stuff like that now I’m looking forward to putting on the skates again also.”
- On the upcoming season: “I’m just looking forward to it, it’s been that long now that you really start missing it again and wanting to put the skates on and it’s right about that time now, it’s going to be an exiting season we got a couple new faces but not a makeover, I don’t think that was really needed ever we just need to keep pushing and keep taking small steps forward as a group.”
- On the newest Canadien Alexander Semin: “I think Semin is, when he on his game he’s one of the hardest players to play against in the league he’s so crafty, so skilled he’s got huge upside obviously.”
- On his role with the team this year: “Well it’s really up to how I play, if I play well I’ll play more and if I don’t play well I’ll play less so it’s very simple, I have to force the coaching staff and management to play me more.”
- The tennis aficionado on if there are any differences in his summer training regiment year by year: “The last couple years it’s been about gaining muscle and recently it’s been about keeping the same weigh but gaining power and explosiveness and also did quite a bit of rehab early on in the summer.”
- On Max Pacioretty’s injury: “If he’s not going to be ready for the season he’s going to be ready shortly after so I don’t think it’s going to be a huge deal for the team or for Max. I’ve been in contact with Max […] I’m sure he’d like not to be injured but he’s going to be fine, he’s been through worse injuries. With Max we’ll see him back sooner than later.”

► Barberio prepared to battle for a spot
- The Canadiens’ newest defenceman Marc Barberio was recently interviewed by RDS at the Gagné-Bergeron pro-am in Quebec and had this to say.
- On donning the Canadiens uniform for the first time as a member of the club: “Yeah it gives me the shivers it’s really cool. Since I was young I was a fan, to have a chance at maybe wearing the jersey I won’t take it lightly I’m proud to be a Montrealers and I’m going to bring that pride on to the ice.”
- On trying to crack the opening day lineup: “It’s going to be hard, it’s not easy, there’s obviously some good defenceman, there should be some good competition between players.”
- On potentially starting the year with the St. John’s Ice Caps: “The goal doesn’t change even if I start there my goal is to play for the Canadiens and even if I start in Newfoundland I will find a way to rise.”
► Button a fan of Juulsen
- TSN scout Craig Button had some kind words to say on Canadiens first round pick Noah Juulsen after the team Canada’s World Junior evaluation camp. “Montreal’s first-round pick in 2015 draft, can add offence and is a very competitive defender who has nice balance in his game.”
- Button also projected the defenceman to pair paired up with Brandon Hicketts of Boston University on team Canada’s third defensive pairing to open up the tournament.
- Back in May Button ranked Juulsen 37th overall in the draft and projected the 6’2 defenceman to be a second pair defenceman, a comparable to Kevin Bieksa, whom Juulsen is a fan of.
- Juulsen had 52 points, including 9 goals, in 68 games in his second season with the Everett Silvertips. The 6’2 defenceman had 25 points in 38 games in 20012-13 with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds of the BCMML.

► Prust on the set of Goon 2
- Former Canadien tough guy Brandon Prust was on the set of Goon 2 doing some bits for Bardown.com

► Price interviewed by an actor in Goon 2
- Carey Price did a hilarious interview with Goon 2’s Marco Belchior that you have to watch.
► Silfverberg locked up
- The Anaheim Ducks signed restricted free agent forward Jacob Silfverberg to a four-year contract extension with a $3.75 million annual cap hit.
- The two-way forward had a mediocre year with the Ducks with only 13 goals and 39 points but had an exceptional playoff run that he had 4 goals and 18 points in 16 games along with a plus 6 rating.
- The swede was acquired, along with Stefan Noesen and a first round pick, in the deal that sent Bobby Ryan to Ottawa.
Silfverberg was chosen with the 39th overall selection by the Senators in the 2009 NHL entry draft.
