►Friday morning practise at Brossard: It was a hi-tempo practise at the Bell Sports Complex with skating-intensive drills. Coach Jacques Martin was vocal and loud throughout.
Max Pacioretty was absent from practise on Friday due to a family matter. His spot on a line with Scott Gomez and Brian Gionta was taken by Michael Bournival. Pacioretty is expected to be in the line-up on Saturday night vs. Tampa Bay in Quebec City.

►Dogs make cuts: Three players on a try-out contract with the Hamilton Bulldogs were released by the club including defensemen Josh McFadden, Tony Dehart and forward Ben Winnett.
►Andrei Markov out for opener: Coach Jacques Martin confirmed that defenseman Andrei Markov will miss the season opener in Toronto on October 6.
►Gallagher sent down: The Canadiens cut three more players on Friday afternoon. Brendan Gallagher, the talk of Habs training camp, was sent to his junior team, the Vancouver Giants (WHL). In addition Michael Bournival was assigned to the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL) and Joonas Nattinen to the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL).
