On this day in hockey history1979— Philadelphia Flyers began an NHL record 35 game undefeated streak with a 4-3 win over Toronto at the Spectrum. They went 25-0-10 over the next three months.

1992 — Rookie Teemu Selanne scored his first career hat trick, and added an assist to lead the Jets to a 7-3 win over Edmonton in Winnipeg.
