- Galchenyuk has flu symptoms. It is unclear whether he will be ready to go for Saturday’s game.
► Power-play adjustments
- The top power-play unit has reverted to a three forward, two defender look as Victor Mete took reps to the left of Shea Weber. Jonathan Drouin has struggled to set the tee for a Weber blast.
- Max Pacioretty moves to the right side so that he can occupy the slot taking advantage of his one-timer.

- The four forward format stays in place for the second unit with Jeff Petry lining up as the only defenceman.
► Fe Fi Fo Schlemko
- David Schlemko nears a return to NHL action. He has been taken off injured reserve and sent to the Laval Rocket of the AHL for a conditioning stint. Schlemko played on the first pairing with Brett Lernout on Friday night.

- Alex Galchenyuk finds himself back where he was in the beginning of the playoffs, on the Canadiens fourth line. Could Claude Julien be trying to send a message?
- Galchenyuk has been inconsistent in his effort level and defensive coverage. This may change before or during the game vs Toronto on Saturday night.

► Team Values
- It seems Jonathan Drouin values fall in line with those of the Canadiens on many issues. Children’s charities are one. He has tattooed his values over his heart and has donated his money to rent a loge to allow sick kids an opportunity to watch a Habs home game. No small feat considering the cost of a ticket.

- Ryan White joins Bruins on a PTO after the Canucks released him from a PTO he had signed with them just before the opening days of training camp.

► Vegas Strong
- The Golden Knights removed all board advertising in advance of their opening game in support of those affected by the shooting in Vegas. I salute the fact that they honoured those affected by the tragedy in Las Vegas.
- The opening ceremony was a memorable and touching event for all involved.

► Bickell goes full circle
- Back where he began his NHL career, Bryan Bickell signed a one-day deal to retire as a Chicago Blackhawk.
- Bickell’s career came to an end after his diagnosis with multiple sclerosis. The two-time Stanley Cup Champion ended his on ice career with a goal on the shootout.

► Bergevin cuts his losses
- Mark Streit has cleared waivers and has been loaned to the Laval Rocket.
- The salary cap will not take a hit according to CapFriendly, leaving another $700,000 available to Marc Bergevin.
- While Streit has been loaned to Laval, he will not report this weekend. It has been reported that Streit will take the time to weigh his options. His desire to play in the Olympics may play into his final decision.
