All Habs Headlines: Thursday April 7, 2016

On this day in hockey history 1928 — 44-year-old coach Lester Patrick replaced injured netminder Lorne Chabot in goal, and Rangers’ Frank Boucher scored at 7:05 of overtime to give N.Y. a 2-1 win over the Montreal Maroons in Game 2 of the 1928 Stanley Cup Finals.  1984 — Goaltender Steve Penney recorded his first career playoff shutout to lead the Canadiens to a 5-0 win over the Bruins, at the Forum in Game 3 of the Adams Division Semi-Finals.  1985 — Pittsburgh’s Mario Lemieux scored a goal for his 100th point of the season, to become just the third rookie in NHL history to score 100 points.
