On this day in hockey history…
1925 — Georges Vezina became the first goaltender in Montreal Canadiens’ history to win 100 career NHL games, as the Canadiens won 10-3 over the visiting Ottawa Senators. 1971 — Montreal’s Jean Beliveau scored three goals, including the 500th of his career, and added an assist as the Canadiens beat the Minnesota North Stars 6-2, at the Forum. It was Beliveau’s 18th (and final) NHL hat trick. |

► No hard feelings?
- After a hard fought battle on Saturday night, there were some uncharacteristic emotional comments in the post game scrum by Brendan Gallagher.
- “I don’t know why we’re talking about him. That’s what he wants. You can let him talk about himself all night. I’m sure he’ll give you guys enough lines. I’m not going to help that out.” – Brendan Gallagher
- P.K. Subban was asked about Brendan Gallagher’s smile following his goal. Subban said, “I didn’t see a smile from him tonight, to be honest with you. I just saw the blood dripping down his face when he tried to hit me and fell down. So that’s what I saw. I didn’t see anything else. Other than that, it was just a normal game as usual, just competing in the battles and that’s it. Just trying to outwork the other guy on the other side.”
- For more post-game quotes, check out: RECAP | Predators – Canadiens: Habs Gallagher Steps Up, Speaks Out
- Gallagher finished with one goal, plus-1 and, four shots in 16:25 of icetime.
-
Subban finished with no points, minus-1, two shots in 26:51.
Like the answer or not if you want honest answers from players don't complain when you get them.
