Meanwhile, Morgan Ellis contributed two assists in two losses for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles as they fell 6-4 to the Mooseheads and 3-2 to the Moncton Wildcats. Olivier Archambault was one of Drummondville’s goal scorers in Friday’s 6-3 loss against the Gatineau Olympiques, and contributed 3 points (1G, 2A) in a Voltigeurs’ 5-4 overtime loss against Chicoutimi on Sunday. Michaël Bournival recorded a goal and an assist and posted a 60.4% faceoff win percentage as Shawinigan went 1-1-0-1 on the weekend, losing 4-3 to Blainville-Boisbriand on Friday, topping them 4-2 on Saturday, and losing 5-1 to the Quebec Remparts on Sunday.
Over in the OHL, Jarred Tinordi quietly contributed to 7-3 and 4-1 wins in London, pitching in for an assist in each game. In the WHL, Darren Dietz scored a goal as the Saskatoon Blades played host to the Edmonton Oil Kings and won 5-1 on Saturday, despite being outshot 34-25. It was Dietz’ second of the season, the first having come in a 4-1 win over Prince George on Wednesday. For his part, training camp sensation Brendan Gallagher scored two goals on Saturday night as his Vancouver Giants came up just short in a 5-4 shootout loss against Medicine Hat. Gallagher now has four goals in three games.
