Bulldogs closer to home?: According to TVA Sports, the Montreal Canadiens may be ready to move their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate team, the Hamilton Bulldogs to Laval, as early as the summer of 2013.

The report suggests that the Montreal Canadiens would follow the lead of their rival Toronto Maple Leafs, who’s AHL affiliate, the Marlies, are only a few kilometers away. This makes travelling between both teams easier, faster and less costly for both players and staff from the hockey department.

The contract between the organization and the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton expires at the end of the 2012-2013 season as per Montreal Canadiens Vice-President of Communications, Donald Beauchamp. No announcement has been made beyond that date by the team.
