► Twenty-goal scorer or more?
- The Canucks Alexandre Burrows played with Zack Kassian for four years and he gave his take on the former 13th overall pick in an interview with TVA Sports (in French): “Zack has incredible potential. He has hands, he’s physical, good speed, a good shot, good vision of the game. He could really be a 20 to 25 goal scorer regularly in the NHL. Sometimes management has crirticized his work ethic but if the Canadiens are able to use [his talents] correctly, he will have success.”
- Burrows also spoke about the man that came back in the deal for Zack Kassian and his newest teammate, Brandon Prust: “In Prust you get a player who will give it all every shift, from game to game we really know what to expect, he’s an excellent leader.”
- On July 1st, the Canadiens acquired forward Zack Kassian along with a fifth round pick from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Brandon Prust.
► Desharnais wants to be more consistent
- David Desharnais was recently interviewed by TVA Sports (in French) and spoke about the upcoming season.
- On his personal objectives for the 2015-16 season: “I would like to have a better start and to stay consistent for the entire year. Every season I try to improve myself.”
- On the acquisition of Alex Semin by Marc Bergevin: “That’s what we need, a scorer, it could be good news.”
- On replacing Brandon Prust in the room: “Since I’ve been with the Canadiens, we’ve lost a lot of leaders but we’ve always replaced them. [Prust] is a really good player and leader. It was appreciated but, that’s life, that’s hockey. Everyone will have to give a little more in that aspect.”
- On his beneficial playoff experience: “All playoff experience is good for everyone. We got to the Conference finals last year and we lost to a team that went all the way.”
► Proud parents
- A huge congratulations from All Habs Hockey Magazine to both Julie and Jeff Petry on the birth of their first child Boyd Jackson Petry. The newest addition to the Petry household was delivered at 6:22 PM on Saturday night.
► Two sport athlete?
- Brendan Gallagher was at a Vancouver Canadians game and got to throw out the first pitch.

- Gallagher even got to take batting practice. The Canadians are the Northwest League affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

► Beaulieu back in Saint John
- Nathan Beaulieu was in Saint John this weekend participating in an alumni game.
► The Summer of Jake
- The summer of Jacob de la Rose continues as he takes time out from washing his vehicle to hose down a friend (I presume) with a pressure washer.
► Fucale a top two prospect?
- The Hockey News rated the top-5 goaltending prospects in hockey and Montreal Canadiens prospect Zachary Fucale ranked second behind Andrei Vasilevskiy of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
- Marc Bergevin had this to say on the development of the young Rosmère, Quebec native: “He’s following the same path as Carey Price and Dustin Tokarski with Memorial Cups and World Juniors. He’s the best (junior) goalie.”
- Fucale had a rough season split between the Halifax Mooseheads (3.20 GAA and an .890 save percentage) and the Quebec Remparts (3.22 GAA and am .877 save percentage) but he showed signs of life with a 2.56 GAA and a .913 save percentage in 20 playoff games for the Remparts.
- Fucale is set to join the St. John’s Ice Caps or the Brampton Beast this upcoming season.
► Bruin signs the CH
- There’s something you don’t see everyday. Maxime Talbot of the Boston Bruins signed his name on the ‘7’ of a P.K. Subban Canadiens jersey for a fan.

► Violent Gentlemen

► Why he’s coming back
- Pittsburgh Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis had his season ended prematurely due to a blood clot in one of his lungs. Nine months later he posted an article on The Players Tribune telling the world not only that he will come back but sharing with everyone the story of his rehab.
- The 36 year-old also mentioned in the article that he doesn’t just want to be a guy that comes back to his team and is solely known as a good locker room guy, he wants to be an effective NHL player again.
- On of the more comical moments of the article was when doctor told his he couldn’t receive passes because the doctors were afraid a puck would come up and knock him and the blood “just wouldn’t stop.” He tell us later on in the article that he cut himself cooking a short while after and the blood “just wouldn’t stop.”
- Dupuis was having a good season with six goals and 11 points in 16 games before going on the self, he admitted in the article that he played five games after being made conscious of the blood clot in his lung which doesn’t look very good on the Penguins medical staff. He mentioned that a reason for hiding it was not to act like a tough guy but to fight off the impending fear of never playing hockey that was consuming him.
► Like mother like son
- Manon Rhéaume was the first woman to ever strap on the pads in an NHL game and now her son, Dylan, will be taking his goaltending venture to the next level. Dylan St-Cyr announced that he will be attending the University of Michigan to play goal for the Wolverines in the 2018-19 season.
- The Las Vegas, Nevada native posted ridiculous numbers in the past three seasons with a 0.83 GAA in 12 games in midget AAA then followed that up with a 1.32 GAA and a .930 save percentage in 11 games with Honeybaked of the HPHL U16. This season he wore an “A” with the team, became their full time starting goalie and didn’t miss a beat with a 2.05 GAA and an .899 save percentage in 20 games.
- His mother, Manon Rhéaume, became the first woman played one exhibition game with the Tampa Bay Lightning back in 1992 to play against the St. Louis Blues and was signed once again by the Lightning the next year to play against the Boston Bruins.
