Happy Birthday to NHLers: Derick Brassard, Ethan Moreau!

Přibyl stars!: On Tuesday Sparta Praha of Czech Extraliga played their second game of the season.  It was a 3-2 overtime loss to the Liberec Tigers, but Canadiens prospect Daniel Přibyl was the game star for Praha.

Captain Streit: On Wednesday former Canadiens defenseman Mark Streit was named captain of the New York Islanders.  Streit becomes the first Swiss-born captain of a NHL team — not bad for an undrafted player.

Massé hopes to stick with Bulldogs!: Dany Massé split his time with the Wheeling Nailers and Hamilton Bulldogs last season.  This year he would like to spend the full schedule in Hamilton.  Massé will have to impress Canadiens brass and Hamilton coach Clement Jodoin in the remaining pre-season games to have a chance.
