All Habs Headlines: Tuesday January 5, 2016

On this day in hockey history 1954 — Habs GM Frank Selke complained that the league was using “motion pictures” to make decisions, but announced that he would not appeal an 8-game suspension of Bernie Geoffrion, who had been involved in a stick incident vs the Rangers. 1984 — Quebec Nordiques’ three Stastny brothers (Peter, Anton and Marian) all scored goals in an 8-3 win against the Bruins, in Boston Garden. 1999 — Pittsburgh’s Tom Barrasso picked up two assists to become the highest scoring goaltender in NHL history. His 47th and 48th career assists moved him two ahead of Grant Fuhr.
