On this day in hockey history 1973 — Possibly the greatest Swedish hockey player of all-time, Peter Forsberg, was born. 1978 — Former NHL’er, Pavel Datsyuk, was born.  1992 — The newest team in the NHL, the San Jose Sharks (entering their second season), hired Deborah Wright as a part-time scout, making her the first female to work in a scouting position for an NHL team.
