Another no-trade clause biting a team in the ass!!! I overheard someone (maybe Stephen Brunt) mention that approximately 20% of NHL players have a no-trade/movement clause in their contract. These clauses give a player a ton of leverage to decide where they are willing to be traded if they do waiver their no-trade clause. Needless to say, the team may not necessarily get the best available deal if the player doesn’t like the team or its chances to win the Stanley Cup………..frustrating stuff for an NHL GM!!!!
