Higgins will make his season debut, AK-46 takes morning skate but will not play

Habster:

Great news about the return of Christopher Higgins and Andrei Kosttisyn taking the morning skate. AK-46 is still probable at best for the Carolina Hurricane game on Tuesday night but it’s still encouraging to hear that he took to the ice this morning.

As mentioned above, Higgins will start the game on the fourth line but if he feels good, then expect him to quickly move up to the third line. If the Habs happen to fall behind by 2 or 3 goals (bite your tongue, right!!!), don’t be surprised to see Guy “the mad scientist” Carbonneau play with his lines and move Higgins up to the second line with Tanguay and Koivu.

Obviously, the Latendresse/Koivu/Tanguay line would have to be having a bad game for a break up to occur and Carbo hasn’t been tinkering the lines too much this season during games.

The Anaheim Ducks looked great for the first two periods of last night’s game against the Senators but suffered a slight collapse in the third, allowing the Sens to get back into the game with three quick goals.

They also squeaked out a narrow 3-2 OT victory over the Maple Leafs on Wednesday night and lost the previous four games. The Ducks should be primed for the taking against a well rested Canadiens team on a roll with five straight wins plus the fact the Ducks have played three games in four nights…….can you smell a victory!!!
